Singer Divya Kumar Reflects on His Unforgettable Collaboration for Stree 2’s Chart-topping Songs

Mumbai, India, October 04, 2024: Recently, singer Divya Kumar has made headlines across the industry for his contributions to the soundtrack of Stree 2, particularly for the songs “Aayi Nahi” and “Aaj Ki Raat.” These tracks have garnered widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia in a cameo, “Aaj Ki Raat” is an exceptional composition that blends melodious tunes with an energetic beat. 

In a candid conversation, Divya Kumar shared his thoughts on recording for Stree 2 and recalls the challenge of conveying emotions through music. The singer expressed his excitement about being part of such a popular franchise, saying, “It was a good experience to lend my voice to such beautiful compositions. There’s always the creative risk of wondering whether the songs and the voice will resonate with the audience. But without a doubt, these songs have reshaped Bollywood’s musical landscape.”

Further, he talks about his relationship with the composer. He says, “My relationship with Sachin-Jigar goes back to the beginning of my singing career. I assisted them for 4 to 5 years, during which I learned so much about music production, programming, and the art of creating melodies. Recording both songs was a delightful experience, especially since ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ was a last-minute addition just before the song’s release. It’s a beautiful composition by Sachin-Jigar, with exceptional lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Madhubanti Bagchi, a brilliant new talent, adding her magic to it.”

“‘Aayi nai’ was a little tough to sing initially because it was a high-pitched song, and I was a part of it from the first scratch. I got this opportunity to record with power star Pawan Singh and, of course, the best quirkiness Amitabh Sir could go with – all in all, one of the year’s biggest albums,” he adds. 

“Here’s an inside secret. I have also sung backing vocals for ‘Tumhare the’ and ‘khubsoorat’ from the album,” the singer shares with a chuckle.

Divya is full of gratitude for multiple collaborations with Maddock Films. He praised producer Dinesh Vijan, saying, “Dino sir gives us freedom and courage. His track record makes the label trust his ideas. It’s refreshing to have a producer who supports your creative vision—it’s like embracing your artistic madness.”
